Cebu City, the Tourist capital of the South can boast of its rich culture and heritage. Glen Centeno considers this booming city his home because this is where his bodybuilding career started.
Glen was born in the Bicol region but studied at the University of Pangasinan, Dagupan City, Pangasinan and graduated with a Bachelors degree in Physical Education in 2001. His first job was teaching PE at the Lyceum High School in Dagupan City right after college. His life has always been focused in the field of sports. He excelled in volleyball in high school and college, although basketball, track and field, martial arts, swimming and football were all part of his sports achievements. He has always been lean and fit because of his active lifestyle.
While in Dagupan City, he had watched a small town bodybuilding event and became curious if he could develop his body into this sport. He tinkered with weights at the Japoys Gym but had difficulty in gaining and developing muscle weight with his 130 pounds of lean body weight.
He moved to Cebu City in 2003 and worked as a Fitness instructor at the Workout Fitness Centre F. Ramos branch owned by Mr. Dennis Delgado, the organizer of the Mr. and Ms. Philippines NABBA and the Mr. and Ms. Physique Philippines. Under Mr. Delgado's tutelage, Glen developed his physique to a competitive level.
In December, 2005 he entered his first competition in the Novice category at the Mr. Pardo, Cebu. He has then joined other competitions and had been recently spotted at the Mr. and Ms. Physique Workout Philippines event.
Glen has the potential of developing into a full-pledge bodybuilder athlete because of his natural talent and symmetrically proportioned body. He has since gained an additional muscle mass of 30 pounds. During off season, he has taught himself how to gain weight by eating proper foods and supplements. He has also improved his training and diet techniques weeks before a competition. At 5' 7", he trains and develops to 165 lbs. off-season and leans down to 152 lbs. for a competition. His arms - biceps and triceps are his best body parts but feels that he needs to work on his back more. Being a Fitness intsructor certainly helps a lot since he has the time to focus on what's best for his career. Also, having a background in the Physical Education arena facilitates his development in the sport of bodybuilding.
Pinoymuscle believes that Glen is on his way up to building his career in the sport of bodybuilding. We hope to see him develop more into a seasoned athlete. And that's not very far from now.
