Zamboanga City, the southernmost city of the Philippines has boasted of its fine athletes since the sixties, being the city with its rich heritage of Moslem, Christian, Spanish, Malays, Americans, a melting pot of traditions, culture and religion.
Jimmy Ansok has been a part of this tradition having lived there almost all his life. Although born in Dumaguete City, he considers Zamboanga City his home.
Before getting into the sport of bodybuilding, Jimmy played a lot of other sports, but mainly basketball. His mentor and friend, Schubert introduced him to weightlifting 5 years ago at the age of 23. Weighing only 120 lbs. and standing 5' 7", he never thought he would be able to compete someday.
He recently appeared at the Mr. Physique Workout in Cebu City and weighed - in at 166 lbs. in the Medium category. He placed 2nd. Jimmy appeared massive, muscular and symmetrical. He is the best athlete Zamboanga City has to offer.
Jimmy trains heavy off and on-season. Three months into his contest preparation, he cardio-bikes everyday for 1 hour giving that well-defined and cut physique. He eats a high protein diet (steamed chicken breast, boiled egg whites, grilled fish) and low to medium carbs. He work-outs everyday and takes the weekends off.
His training consists of legs/biceps - 1st day, back/shoulders - 2nd day, chest/triceps - 3rd day, and then back to day 1. He does his abs every workout. He believes his best body part is his abdominals due to genetics. He wants to improve his legs so that's where he is focused now.

Jimmy dreams of going international someday. Given a chance to win a National event, he would do his best to make the Philippines a country of strong contenders.
