Raque B. Agaton - January 2006

Raque (pronounced like "Rocky") Agaton fits the part of a character actor, stuntman, bodyguard and a rugged commercial model.

That's because he has done all that in his glorious and illustrious career. But in real life, Raque is the most gentleman, unassuming, polite, courteous, kindest and unimposing person that he is - an aberration of his image "on-screen", so to speak.

Raque was born and raised in Balicuatro, Lavezares, Norther Samar Province. He came to Manila to study Architecture at the National University in Sampaloc, Manila in 1991. Back in the province he already idolized the famous Arnold Schwarzennegar and wanted to be like him. He started training with weights when he got to Manila to become a bodybuilder/athlete. He joined a few competitions in the early nineties but was spotted by some producers to do parts in movies and television because of his looks. After a few years in show business, he decided to go abroad in 1997 to work in Yanbu, Saudi Arabia and Beluno, Italy as a draftsman applying what he studied in college for.

He came back in 1999 and decided to stay and continued his work in the Philippines. Raque currently resides in Angono, Rizal. He works as a freelance personal trainer in different gyms like Golds, Slimmers, etc… in Metro Manila. His most memorable and prestigious title he holds is the Mr. Philippines in 2003. He still targets the year 2006 to compete again in the Mr. Philippines. The best condition he has ever been was the Men's Health Asian Body Challenge 2005. He trained mostly in cardio-vascular activities like, sprints on treadmill and lifecycle everyday for 3 months before the competition. No wonder he turned out his muscular 160 lbs. cut and lean. He also cut his long hair to a wholesome, clean cut, pretty-boy image to take the trophy home.

Raque's favorite meal when dieting is camote and steamed fish for breakfast and lunch. Add some vegetables like cucumber and greens for dinner and he's all set. Wow, if you could follow his diet regimen, you'd probably look the part too. He believes 65% in conditioning for a show is in the food that you eat and 35% is in the weight training. "The muscles are already there so a little pump will do especially if you've been pumping for competitions before. Unless of course you want to improve a body part that is weak, you would want to focus heavy on that body part." says Raque.

He believes his shoulders and arms are his best body parts and his chest his weakest. But overall, Raque is symmetrically and proportionately gifted.

Just like a lot of other athletes, he voices out his opinion that the bodybuilding sport needs a major boosting in the Philippines to raise the standard of the sport. Thanks to Pinoymuscle.Com for paving the way!

Pinoymuscle is proud to have Raque as one of the finalists in its TV Show on ABC Channel 5 - 12noon til 1pm Saturdays. Him and partner Kaye Hernandez have the best chemistry and strategy in most of the challenges during the show. No wonder, their team stays up in the Top 3 contenders every episode.
By the way, Kaye Hernandez was chosen as a contestant for the Binibining Pilipinas beauty pageant for next year 2006. Good luck to you Raque in your career and to you Kaye Hernandez in your fight for the TV show challenges every week and for both your careers in show business!!!

Pinoymuscle is proud to feature one of the top athletes of our sport for the month of January, 2006 - Raque Agaton.
